This drawing was inspired by the House fandom's tendency to call Cameron, Chase, and Foreman "ducklings." Everything else just grew out of that. For anyone who's not familiar with the movie Castaway, Wilson as a volleyball is an inside joke: Tom Hanks's character was marooned on an island and his only "friend" was a volleyball, appropriately named Wilson, with a face painted on it.P.S. The sunset-orange sky was photoshopped, as well as some of the pale blue fill color in the water (my marker was running out, okay?). Everything else is legit.

I had no idea about the duckling thing untill I read the artist comment (though in some weird way the picture still seemed to make a kind of sense) and I totally forgot about the Wilson thing XD And having Cuddy as a mother duck... XD and I love all the expressions, they all just suit so well <3

LMAO. XD Guh, your brilliant. I love this so so much. Everything looks great & the humor is just perfect in every way shape & form. Wilson as a volleyball is hilarious, & the ducklings are too. Itβs great how they have jackets on still, hehe. Cuddy swan is adorable & shark Vogler is great. House & his little hat & boat are so utterly cute itβs almost wrong. I love Voglerβs expression too XD

Yeah, the skark is Vogler. Someone else already asked me why I didn't put Vogler's head on the body of a shark and the simple answer is because it was too hard. It would have looked pretty funky at that angle, so I just gave the shark some Vogleresque qualities: the suspenders, the wrinkles in the forehead, and the Viopril report. That was the best I could do. Thanks for your comments!

OMG! But why doesn't the shark have Vogler's face? I'm sure his face would be really really fun to draw (especially with an evil smile)!
I totally adore this concept, as it seems like something that I'd come out with (it seems I can't just draw a guy standing around... 90% of the time there has to be a joke... which is a pity when I'd like to be angsty and serious).

I tried to make the shark face Voglerish by coloring it a more brownish-gray. I also used the forehead wrinkles and tried to incorporate that cheesy smile of his into the shark grin. But as for putting his head on the shark like I put the human heads on the others, it was just too difficult, at that perspective, to put a human head on a shark and not have it look clunky. I worried over that a fair amount, but I'm happy with it (or as happy as I ever am with my work).

I'm sure you're right about that... a human head on a shark, without the grace of a neck... it just wouldn't work. I should have thought of that before I commented.

Naw, I'm glad you're being critical of my work. Constructive criticism will only help. Someone else just asked me about the Vogler/shark, so you weren't the only one.
Thanks for commenting on all of my scraps. I didn't realize those would pop up for comments. I thought they would just sit there and not bother anybody. For future reference, you don't have to comment on everything if you don't want to. I mean, I love that you do *hugs harmlessfangirl from afar* but I feel almost guilty, like I'm pestering your inbox with Deviations updates everytime I post something.
I'd best go off and get some real work done. Blah.

I'm glad for your crit as well. Atleast we both know we can grow from it.
And as for feeling like a pest, I combat that by not allowing myself to post more than 4 items per day (though, occasionally I don't make good on that). *lol* But that's just me. I love to see a bunch of new pieces from my favourite artists in my inbox when I log on. It thrills me, so don't feel like a pest.
And I love to comment. If I think an artist is worth it, I love to comment.
