Impulse adopted another design for the Miracleverse/Newbloodverse from
Summerfree is the daughter of Maigold Apple and, drumroll please… no one! That’s right! Much like Cadance, Summerfree is a true lovechild, in fact, the first true lovechild since Cadance.

See, Maigold was always meant to be a subversion of the traditional tropes presented by Voldemort of a child born from a love potion, as well as of the stereotypical aromantic character. Thus, she was very much always intended to one day have a child, one that she very much wanted. I just hadn’t decided where her child would come from.

But then, when I saw the adoptable, it occurred to me; see, my headcanon for how same sex couples (at least, female/female, males still need a surrogate or sex change spell) or couples with different species in the MLP FIM universe can have biological children is quite literally the Magic of Love.
The magic of love quite literally creates a child… so, why then, did I need to figure out where Summerfree would come from?

Maigold wanted a child so bad that she literally willed her into existence, and no one is actually quite sure how, as it’s not a normal situation that happens; Cadance was an anomaly created from all of Equestria’s love, so it was assumed that only that level of magic could create a true lovechild.
No one’s sure if it has anything to do with Maigold being a child of love poison or not, but no one really cares either, as many see Summerfree as a sign of the world healing from the love drought, and Maigold just loves her daughter for who she is.
No one’s quite sure why she happens to look so much like Queen Ocellus’s disguise, Lily Lightly, but it’s speculated that, as she’s made of all of Maigold’s platonic love, she naturally looked like ponies Maigold knows.

Summerfree is a simple florist and beekeeper and is well known for her sugary sweet personality and slight aforementioned fan/cult following, something she is trying unsuccessfully to dissuade and at least trying to instill good values in when forced to acknowledge. It’s mostly harmless, really. Hopefully.

Fun fact! Summerfree and Splendour are both apple cultivars!
