Description Self-portrait at age 21.

Photomanipulation with a self portrait. (The only thing manipulated is putting my portrait on a different background.) Paint rules!

Background image is "Smoke" from [link]

Mmm, this is kind of psychadelic and surreal.

(I feel sorry for you trying to cut yourself out with frizzy hair. It's really not possible. Now you know why I've gelled my hair on certain occasions before getting in front of the bluescreen! You, of course, can't do that.)

Honestly, something about this just doesn't look "right," and I'm not entirely sure why. I started to say that the color cast of the background (deep blues) clashes with the foreground (slightly washed-out browns and skin-tones), but that alone shouldn't be a problem. After all, photographers take portraits on backgrounds like this all the time.

I think the clash is probably coming less from the difference in color and more from the difference in brightness/contrast. You are, dare I say it, TOO well lit.

*chuckles* I hadn't really considered the brightness cause I have no idea how to adjust it. I think the problem is the sizing...when I shrunk my image to fit in the background, something got squished. That's probably why it looks funky. But since it's just an ID image, I wasn't trying to be super-careful. ^_^;;

And yes, frizzy hair = hell. I end up cutting most of that extra firzz out when I cut out my image to place on a background.
