why is being a shaman such a bad thing to them? im guessing they had bad experiences with it

Yeah, that's one reason. Second is - shamans using theyr magic on the hunt, in the fights... And this pack also think they can't do anything without using magic so "wizards" theyr nothing without it. And Reiq specialy thinks using magic is a sign of weakness and have a shaman in his pack, what's worse it's his son, it's the biggest disgrace.
