Thanks! Thats sort of what I was going for. I wanted something simple, where you can apply your own personal meaning. I'm happy with the way these turned out. I'll be making a few new styles in the next couple months.

I'mthinking about making wings too, but what tools did you use to cut the wood?

In order...

Bandsaw (to cut off rough bits)
Jointer (to edge it)
Jointer (to surface it and to get out some twist)
Bandsaw (to resaw each individual wing)
Planer (to even the thickness and keep it parallel)
Bandsaw (cutting accents)
Oscillating Spindle Sander
Random Orbital Sander
Drill Press.

Then hand sanding, then hand finishing.

And that is just for the WINGS, not for all the framework and mounting.

Thanks! I really wanted to keep it to "old world" mechanisms, simple but effective.
