In 1982, there was a concert called the Secret Policeman's Concert. It was a concert demanding the release of political prisoners, and the encore featured Sting. With just his guitar, he sang "Message in a Bottle" and "Roxanne," and it was absolutely amazing. I've been listening to it for over 30 years since a friend introduced it to me, and it hasn't lost its charm. It seems that Sting was indeed wielding a Stratocaster at the time.
