Technically, it's a really good picture! But it's not very interesting at all and it doesn't look like it's brought you any challenge. What is it you want to do with your artwork? Don't you want to try new things and learn more? 
Personally, I'd suggest you get out of your comfort zone right now and draw something more dramatic with lots of movement and lots of lighting 
And about the watermark, I add my own name and link to my page simply across more detailed parts of the picture, like around the head and a few below. People are more likely to steal the head of whatever you make so that they can use it as avatars.

I agree with what your saying about the whole movement thing. I definatly need to try and draw more dramatic shots, but all in all Im quite happy with the outcome of this picture. I just wanted it to be simple.

I really like this.
The colors blend well together and the cat is so cute.
However, try to avoid the DeviantArt watermark. I know that when you like a piece you fell you need to protect it, but try making your own signature. That way you can put it somewhere where it will not be easy to remove, but will not harm the picture either. The watermark provided by DeviantArt is big, ugly and doesn't do much in your favor. In my opinion, it only screams "DeviantArt" and your name is small and almost unnoticeable.

Ah yeah i see, you are right. If i make my own, where would you suggest i put it? do u think i should avoid putting it in the middle of my picture? The reason i was thinking to put my watermark (or the deviantart one] in the middle was to put off art theives. I completly agree with you that it looks ugly, i just get a bit worried! :S

I don't have a perfect answer to your question. The problem has been bothering me also for quite some time.
Here is an artist who has a big watermark on all of her works, which does not ruin the general view : [link] . You see how the watermark blends with the drawing ?
This is an example which is less good : [link] Putting it somewhere where people will see it, but where it would not bother them when viewing the image.
And of course, there are many artists who draw exceptionally good pictures and don't watermark them : [link] [link] I myself only add a small signature somewhere in a corner.
If someone really wants to steal an image, it will do it, watermark or no watermark. I saw websites selling postcards made with images having signatures and watermarks.
However, if you only upload 72dpi images which are no bigger than 800 or 1000 pixels, the utilisation of the stolen images is limited to web only. No one can print a decent result from a 72dpi
