Balls this is a huge file. Anyways, here is a metal chart by metalheads for metalheads.

PLEASE READ before posting:

1) The name of the band with OM as their symbol IS "OM". I didn't think I'd have to repeat that. But if you guys insist, I'll put it in.

2) The bands in orange are NOT metal bands. That's why they're called "noble rocks". They're actually ROCK bands. Van Halen was never really a metal band and neither was AC/DC, but these are all rock bands that are worthy of a listen for people that like metal and rock.

If you look at the periodic table of the elements, the right side is dedicated to non-metals and the right row is noble gases, and as you know, a gas is definitely not a metal. Hence that is a parody on that. Those of you who stayed awake in chemistry class will appreciate this.

To be fair, these are not necessarily the HOLYSHITBEST bands in each genre. However. there are some I believe are worth a firm listen in addition to some of the old classics. That's why there are bands from the last 10 years on here.

Also, to be perfectly clear, this does not represent all the good bands in each genre. Doing that would have been impossible.

Anyone can throw Metallica and Megadeth on a mural and say "I'm awesome!" but I wanted to make this something that will stick and maybe give some cred to lesser known bands.

2/21/13 -- 800 downloads!! Back on track! Will we see 1,000 soon?

3/5/13 -- 900 downloads! What in the heck is going on? This is almost to 1,000!!

3/16/13 -- WE HAVE HIT 1,000 DOWNLOADS! Wow, I'm only about 950 behind the white version of the table this was based on! (seriously. I want to pass this guy, even though his has been on for years)

3/30/13 -- 1,100 downloads! HELL YEAH!!

4/19/13 -- 1,200 downloads!! you guys are incredible! Spread the word!

6/22/15 -- 1,300 downloads!! Hey we finally got it!
