The first time I heard of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, I thought to myself . . . "OMG, this is just a stupid gimmick-anime to sucker little kids into buying more worthless sh!t . . ."BUT
Somehow I ended up watching it, and then I thought to myself . . . "OMG, this is a stupid gimmick-anime to sucker little kids into buying more worthless sh!t . . ."
". . . but it's really, REALLY, entertaining . . ."
Words cannot begin to describe how very stupid and dry the story line is. But I just LOVE the character-designs!! (though I could do without Manjoume's, Judai's and Shou's fugly hair styles)
Not to mention the Japanese theme songs just . . . Rock. They are just too awesome <333 kyujyuukyu pacento . . . nanana
Well, if you know GX than you can probably guess that this is supposed to be Marufuji Ryou-- probably one of the only reasons to watch GX, he is just super awesome. I love his character design the best; to the point where I'm even starting to sound like one of those stupid fan girls. But hey, he should have fangirls stalking him, he is awesome.
Not to mention his deck fucking rocks if you build it right (using cards also that haven't been released yet). Throw out all the crap like his funky trap cards, barrier/laser dragon, and giraffe, and just stick to the nutz-ness 1 turn kill stuff.
3x Over Load Fusion

3x Cyber Phoenix
3x Cyber Dragon
3x Proto Dragon
Throw in a bunch of time capsules and imperial decrees (I like the idea of Kaiser running Imperial Decree), and you're ready to kick some major freaking ass.
2x Cyber Dragon + Power Bond = 5600 ATK Twin Dragon = ownage
Future Fusion + Power Bond + Cybernetic Fusion Support = 8000 ATK End Dragon = ownage
Future Fusion + De-Fusion = 3x Cyber Dragon on field = ownage
Future Fusion + Proto Cyber Dragon + Overload Fusion =Chimeratech Over Dragon that can attack 5 times = OWNAGE
Future Fusion + Proto Dragon + Power Bond + Cybernetic Fusion Support = Chimeratech Over Dragon with 9600 ATK that can attack 5 times = just, wrong . . . just very very wrong . . .
Throw in a bunch of Cyber Phoenix and Dekoichi for speed + over dragon food, and this just becomes a very sickening deck.
Ryou is just awesome . . . and then Hell Kaiser makes him just even more awesome . . .
BTW-- sorry for the fugly coloring and lack of background, but I was just too lazy, and I g2 study for finals . . . T-T

Nice pic you got there. The only thing I don't like about Hell Kaiser is how little he was involved with the second season's overall plot regarding that "Society of Light", it's like he was just there to promote the Cyberdark Dragon. Pissed me right the fuck off>_<. I mean they did that whole bit where he becomes Hell Kaiser, shaping hoim up to be a major villain-like character that the peeps have to deal with, but then after he pwns Sho...nothing. At least they gave him a better spot in the third season's plotline, went out with a blaze of glory.
Yeah that show sucked, too many filler episodes/duels. And of course 4Kids just made it ten times more worse with their shitty writting and voice characterizations...I heard a fucking Ben Stien voice even! How uninspired can they be?!

I love Ryo! Too bad after he went all Hell Kaiser (which indeed made him much cooler) and with all of those shocks (which is as messed up as Chimeratech. I mean, that thing could have one of the god cards and Shinging Dragon slightly trembleing!) he's slowly dieing because of it.

Zane Truesdale/Hell Kaiser, whatever you want to call him,
He kicks ass!!!!! And yes his deck kicks ass to, i'm trying to make Hell Kaisers deck with my own added touches to nail my friend, he thinks he can beat me with his Blue Eyes deck and although i love Blue Eyes, Cyber Dragons come first lol XD
I think the background is good without colour, it brings out Kaiser and the Cyber Dragon

Ah, I'm watching more eps on Youtube recently, and his "tails" deck is interesting too . . .
Bah . . . well of course Cyber Dragon is a 5/5 monster that belongs in almost every competitive deck right now. Works with Monarchs. With Chimeratech 1-turn-kill. It works with agro, control, chaos (in traditional), and even with cyber stein. A monster that, because in 3's, changes the whole standard for an "easy summon" beatstick. You won't see any 1900 or 2000ers (gorilla or blade knight basically) seeing play because they all got their asses kicked by Cyber Dragon. Go tell your friend who plays blue eyes that.
As for chimeratech . . . I think they killed it by restricting Future Fusion . . . I mean yes, a chimeratech 1-turn-kill deck exists, but it involves more of a "stuff your deck full of any decent machines and trash them as soon as possible" strategy (ie, nothing like Zane's Deck . . .).
Though I can see how letting people pack multiple future fusions could cause issues . . .

Nice pic... and I admit that's what I thought when I heard of GX too but now I watch it whenever it comes on and, you guessed, it mostly for Zane.

From looking at a lot of Obata-san's work (artist for HikaNoGo and Death Note). Obviously, Takahashi-san wouldn't draw faces like this . . . Like his style too of course, but I always found it a blast to draw yu-gi-oh charas in other styles since they are so so stylized.

Sorry to break it for you, but not Bakura. A GX chara named Marufuji Ryo, Ryou? Not sure but anyway, I described him above. I like Bakura too, but if I were too draw him, it'd have to be a lot more . . . creepy heh heh
