Another "false-color" photograph. I think this was the first one where I started experimenting with wilder color schemes. I wanted something that would accentuate the texture in the eyes and ears.

My sister's cats were just chillin' on her bed, surrounded by their favorite playtoys: bits of underpants elastic. I'm guessing this was taken in the late 1990s, a year or two before my sister and her husband got their new place.

They're sisters, by the way. I think Xena's the one on the right, and Gabby's the one on the left. Gabby's no longer with us. Xena is the mother of my current cat, Dusty, who has her mother's eyes and softness.
