Nice. Except this one's all meat and no robot.

It's a jet, why are they useing air guns? The only reason the darwinists use air guns on th hydrogyn breathers is because they dont want to explode themselves.

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-09-22 15:09:20 +0000 UTC]
Because this is a hydrogen breather itself, except it uses a jet-like propulsion system instead of propellers. Egro, it's would blow up if they use standard MG's.

How would you hit another jet with air guns?

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-09-24 04:08:33 +0000 UTC]
Same as with a standard MG. They're partically the same...these just run on air.

How would you compress that much air practicaly?
PS, dont take this wrong, I am genuinly curious.

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-09-28 03:01:13 +0000 UTC]
Not sure, actually. However Westerfeld made it. Cause the Leviathan's air guns are like MG's. It's the same version of that.
Or, if that fails, they could be standard U.S. Colt-Brownings with flashless charges in the casing.

I think you would at least need to recharge the compressers after each burst.

Probably. But considering its a mix of Darwinist and Clanker tech, there's probably some fabricated tech in there that helps.

Wait, I just had an idea! Instead of strapping jet thigies to a hydrogyn breather, thus limiting the armaments to non-firey ones, you could have a beastie that can basicly lock into a rigid "flying position". Then you would strap jets on. Hows thay for an idea?

Also, I missed this. Basically, that is actually what it is. The shark is practically solid. It's slightly flexable (to increase manuveravility) but mostly its a solid creature.

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-11-02 15:36:02 +0000 UTC]
Oh okay. In that case, 1907. Four years after the Wright brothers proved powered flight was possible. The original BACV was the Darwinist equivilent of their Flyer. It took a little longer cause life chains are a bit tough to work with.

Bobbishe In reply to Straif5 [2011-11-03 00:05:36 +0000 UTC]
Heat seeking missiles and jet propulsion in 1907? Why didn't they have'em in 1914 then?

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-11-03 00:46:45 +0000 UTC]
No, just the basic version. The flying shark. The OG one had prop engines. This version was developed until 1913. It was created in anticipation of the tensions in Europe.

From basic prop driven plane to jet fighter in 5 years? The suspension of disbelief would be less strained if it came post-great war.

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-11-03 21:41:48 +0000 UTC]
Its not a jet fighter. the propulsion is more like that of a bombader beetle. American boffins just stole it from nature.

Yup! So naturally I concluded that this was the leviathan verse replacement for the F-4. I guess I was wrong, lol.

It's close. Same basic idea; two-seater interceptor. Except this ones made from a shark.

Straif5 In reply to Bobbishe [2011-11-07 17:18:05 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, defenantly. Also, more heavilly armed than the F-4. If I remember, the OG Phantom-II didn't have a gun. Just four AIM-9 Sidewinders and four Aim-7 Sparrows. They added the gun later.

Actually, it depends on where you are. The country as split during the Civil War; the South went Darwinist, and the North Clanker. As this is a creature developed in Washington (which is a mixture of both) it has both in it.

It does. I'm more clanker, unfortunately. If you look in my gallery front page, you'll see a SturmPanzer Recon mech. WWII-era, heavily idea-based on the Leviathan series.
