Metro Station
'Emo band' I've never heard of has a shitload of track plays/views on myspace.. so apparently they are a big deal.
Anyways, I wish this shot was cleaner, but I still like it, it kinda feels like a old film shot concert from back in the 80's or something..
I saw him climbing up the drum, so i focused, then most of the lights just went out as I clicked.
Oh well, i like the shot, but its not a 'keeper' so to speak.
They opened for Simple Plan, another emoish punk rock band

I wouldnt call them Emo. Would call them Almost Decent. Great shot. I think them killing the lights on you MADE the shot for this cos it makes the shot look even more active, if possible. oh well.

very nice shot. the guitarist got a heap of air as well haha, good capture.
simple plan sucks though, they're not emo or punk, they have their own category for the worst band in the world.

I think i caught him at the top of the jump, cause 1/60 and very little motion..
I agree, i couldnt for the life of me figure out why i applied for it.. was a decent show, music wasnt great.

i did look at that, 1/60 for a jump and even for the drummer's sticks/wrists, hardly any motion at all. very lucky shot, so easily could have been too blurred to keep.
haha yeah, i went to a friend's show last weekend and i'm hoping to go to more because i really enjoyed taking shots there. just have to find small gigs or go to ones of bands i like really early to get close.

This is a really neat photograph! The moving versus the stationary make a neat contrast in this photograph. The light dark contrast is beautiful as well. Great job with this photograph!-Steven

It shouldn't even technically be a genre because it's impossible to classify what is "emo", but it did derive from punk rock somewhere down the line.
