Description Emerald Lake is one of the most beautiful spots that I've been in all my travels. It sits in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, enclosed by mountains of the President Range. The green colour is due to glacial till (sediment and so on) that enters the lake.

Even with all the tourists, this spot seemed very calm and peaceful. Just watch out for the cougars in the trees...

Nikon D70s, with a bit of Photoshop to get rid of the irritating dust bits that my camera adds to every shot and to really bring out the colours.

The most picturesque place I saw in Canada, I think. Certainly the best lake. I wonder what it's like at this time of year, when it's (presumably) getting cold enough to freeze over up there? Maybe one day I'll get to find out...
