First photo of my surprise Sailor Scout costume from Otakuthon. It was Sailor Moon who was my absolute favourite Scout growing up and probably my favourite anything for a few years. XD Ammie suggested that I do a bow swap with my Sailor Mercury costume so she made me boot covers, glove tops, bows and a choker back when I got my Mercury costume from her. I didn't expect the combo to work as well as it did for Moon. I also didn't think Moon would suit me at all, but looking at pictures of myself as Moon I hardly recognize myself!Wearing this was so much fun at Otakuthon and I loved that I got to Cosplay with my dear friend Sakura who was a super adorable Sailor Venus. :3 (More photos to come!)
I always remember going to the CNE in like 1996 and seeing the Sailor Moon stage show and being in total awe of the costumed performers (especially of Sailor Moon) so finally Cosplaying the title character nearly 15 years later and feeling like I pulled her off fairly well kinda blows my mind a bit. XD
The costume elements came from a lot of sources (I'm really just a model besides doing a bit of minor sewing and repair work here and there) so here are the credits:

Catzia has a lot of great Sailor Moon accessories. (^^) I love their tiaras. I own several of them for different Sailor Scout costumes. (^_^)

You're very kind! Thank you for the compliments! My friend Ammie deserves all the credit for the fuku since it was a commission. It was actually a Sailor Mercury fuku and I swapped the bows and boot covers. :3 The blue worked really nicely for Moon too.
I purchased my brooch on Etsy. The seller I bought mine from doesn't seem to have them for sale right now, but I would suggest having a look on that site. (^^) I really like that mine has a bit of an antique look to it.

Thanks! I will be posting more photos when I find more nice shots from the con. I did a shoot with a photographer friend and I'll post those pictures whenever he's done processing them. That and I hope to do an outdoor shoot before the weather gets cold. XD

You make an amazing Sailor Moon! You are so lucky, you pull off all the senshi equally perfectly! I never would have guessed Moon was your favorite, how cool that you were able to cosplay as her. Lovely job, and agreed, you do look a lot like her.

Thanks for the compliment! I don't think I would be very good as some of the Scouts, but so far I've had a lot of fun portraying everyone (with a bit of hesitation regarding Mercury though). I wasn't sure the pigtails for Moon would look nice on me, but I really lucked out with the wig. I had no idea what to expect after getting into the costume at Otakuthon, but it was a really sweet experience. Definitely a highlight of my Cosplay career. X3
I was gaga for Moon as a kid. I just put off Cosplaying her because of the wig and Saturn was suggested first. Now I can't wait to wear this costume again. XD

LOL Yeah, I've Cosplayed 4 of the 10 main Scouts now. I have a Super Sailor Chibi Moon costume still to wear and Ammie is going to make me a Sailor Saturn fuku as well and that should be it for me Sailor Moon wise unless the new Anime has some different designs or something. XD Ammie has Cosplayed pretty much every Scout. I don't think I could pull off a few of them like Pluto or Uranus though. XD

Mostly because Pluto and Uranus are tall and both have more mature auras to them (plus Pluto has darker skin). Jupiter might be kinda of fun but the cost of the fukus really is a deterrent. XD Using my Mercury costume for two Scouts was a real blessing for my wallet. LOL

That's nice of you to say. Cosplaying a Sailor Scout isn't easy. The fukus are definitely a challenging outfit to make. I'm glad that I commissioned a friend to make mine. It probably would have taken me several months to make this costume otherwise.
