very nice work,i like the texture of it,and it has like...a certain grittyness to it,if you know what i mean...that it just gives it a nice well made feeling

Yeah, I did. It was pretty disturbing and still very good. But I think I liked the book better, it gave the insight into characters' minds, and that made it even more touching.

Ah, yes, I haven't read the book yet But books are almost always better than the movies, they have a lot more time to explain the motivations.

I could probably point out a few cases in which the movies were better (like The Godfather books - they were just boooring), but yeah, that's a pretty accurate generalization.
