Part 3

The two girls stared at each other in total awe, completely dumbfounded at seeing their roommate at the gym.
“Kat!  I...I...”  The words just couldn't reach Elyse's mouth.
“Elyse...what are you doing here!?”  Kat was shocked.  She observed her friend's plumper body.  This was why she was wearing baggier clothes around the house. “I can't stand it!  Counting calories, trying to look 'good' for the guys.  I started to hate myself!”  Tears began to fall from her eyes.  “Then I see you, everyday.  Eating what you want, being happy, and  still there are some guys who check you out!  I work my ass of and feel terrible and I still end up with a terrible guy!  I love to eat, just like you, and I honestly think that big women are much more attractive than thin women, but I let myself get lost in what I thought people wanted me to look like.  I envy you so much, Kat...you're beautiful and you are the happiest girl I know...I want to know what it feels like to be that girl...”  She burst into tears, as did Kat. “Well, after all of that I think you two could use something to eat!”  Kelsey contributed.

Elyse became a regular at Expanding Horizons very quickly.  She and Kat went everyday and everyone their quickly got to know her.  Kat was so happy for Elyse.  She was finally happy and enjoying her life.  She looked at Elyse from across the gym and saw her stuffing her face and laughing with Jenna, Tina and May.  Seeing her like that made Kat feel good inside.  Then again, so did the good that was being funneled into her! “Well then get another one!  I'm not done here, boys!  I'm gonna go chat with the other girls, and when I get back I want to see another tank loaded with food, alright?”  She said with a naughty smile. “Hey, you're right, she hasn't been here in a couple weeks...I'll call and make sure everything is alright.”  She picked up the phone and dialed Kristen's number, but no one answered.  “Hmm, this isn't looking good.  I think I'm going to check by her house.”
“Can I come to?  I want to make sure she's okay.”  Kelsey nodded.  “Hey, Elyse, we are going to check on a friend who hasn't been here in a while, do you want to come?”
“Oh, sure!  I hope she's okay.”  The three girls got changed and then approached Kelsey's van.  It was huge, and for good reason!  There was enough room for the girls to fit in and it was comfy, something that Kat wasn't used to in a vehicle.  They all drove down to Kristen's house and knocked on the door.  They heard footsteps.  Someone was home!  The door opened and standing there was John, Kristen's husband.
“Oh, hello Kelsey!  To what do I owe this visit?”
“John, Kristen hasn't been at the gym in over two weeks and we are getting worried, is she okay?”  John laughed heartily.
“Oh, my yes!  She's more than okay!  Please come in.”  The girls followed him in.  “Honey, you have some guests.”  He called out.  They followed John into a large room and what they saw was astonishing.  Kelsey and Kat looked slightly shocked while Elyse looked as if she had discovered something not of this world.  There was Kristen, sitting on a broken couch that was crushed under her immense figure.  She was completely immobile, and obscenely obese compared to when Kat and Kelsey had last seen her.
