"He always seemed to... You know, light up the place!" Wendy complained as she sat behind the familiar rusty cash register.
"yeah, I get it dude." Soos said, it was true.
Mabel would always make everything sparkly and joyful with a certain amount of glitter and stickers, but Dipper...
Even when he was working on something, always struck an aura of calm through the room, made it warm and welcoming as just a place to be. But as they wandered through the halls, it felt... Empty.
The Stan twins were out on their boat ride doing something or another, Grenda and Candy were in school and so were all of Wendy's friends, as she had graduated one year earlier as she was the oldest, and the mystery twins were back at their hometown, going to school and living their lives.
"Well, that's the end of my shift, are you sure you can handle everything else?" Wendy asked as she noticed the clock tick over to seven thirty, when met with a shake of his head she smiled.
"Alright, see you tomorrow." She said as she gathered her bag and warm fur-lined hoodie, she zipped it up as she pushed out the door, the chilly fall wind greeting her like an old friend, she adjusted the same pine tree hat on her head, a smile adorning her face as she walked.
"You'll be back soon, and then... We'll have another summer we'll never forget." Wendy muttered as she passed through the leaves, they'd be back, and then... Well, that was the fun of it, you never knew what would happen when you were with the mystery twins.

Don't worry Dipper, while you're gone I'm sure numbers 3 and 4 will give it everything they have to win her over. They'll probably fail...but at least they'll try!

I think she always felt it, but she never considered it because of the difference. I think that it was a significant gap because her mother, who was three years older than her father, died two years ago. That's just my theory, though. A falls theory.

I believe Wendy's mom is/was older than her dad as well, but I don't believe it was just 2 years ago, I believe it to be longer. We don't really know how old her youngest brother is, after all.

Well the only reason say two years is because if she died before that then Manly Dan would already be past the age she died.

Why does it have to be cancer? What if it had something to do with the paranormal activity in gravity Falls and Manly Dan had to use the "forget ray" so he doesn't know why his wife is missing. Also, now I consent to the idea that it was more like 8 years ago rather than 2, it doesn't matter.

I actually wrote in one of my old fics that her mother started developing cancer while she was pregnant with her youngest brother, but she didn't get treatment because it would harm Lionelle (the nameΒ of Wendy's youngest brother, which I found in another fic.)
