Some weeks of testing seems indeed a minimum. But the limits of the system must be tested extensively, for the safety of future owners. This would imply tests going beyond what is normally considered tolerable, both in intensity and duration. Being locked in that cage for too long might also be problematic for your health. I suspect that moving you out if it regularly to test the effects with various shapes of cages and other restrictive metal devices would be much safer. You would need to sign off your rights to be released before the end of the tests,Β however long it takes, too. You don't want to waste the results of weeks-long intensive testing just because you suddenly change your mind.Β

I agree, and if the results are positive you may make me notice those little words at the end of the contract I've signed saying that the duration can be changed unilaterally by the chief tester

Well, I specified "before the end of the tests, however long it takes". There might be a need for tweaking for a very, very, very long time. And presumably many other apparatuses that need to be tested in between two tests of this particular one. I regularly see some on DA. And besides complex torture systems, even simple items like canes or crops need to be certified. Not even counting restraining devices, which, fortunately, can be tested as the same time as the torture implements.Β
