I thought of the name. It's a cultivated variety of Osteopermum (according to Wikipedia it's known as 'Contorta' because of its furled petals. I verified my memory just in case I had it wrong!). I bought it because it looked so very cool. This one is purple with a bluey-purple center. With this one particular picture, I bumped up the color a bit because it added so much to the overall image. (I didn't know how to say that I had enhanced the blue tones in that space where you designate what sort of photo it is. Usually though I leave the pictures as taken, to speak for themselves.)

Extremely beautiful, vibrant colors covering nearly the full spectrum of my faves: Deep, metallic blue, a near-cyan blue & shades of purple from near magenta to deep, rich purple. I don't know the names of this amazing range of colors, but I know when something catches my eye from a mere glimpse and nearly takes my breath away… it's pure beauty!

I posted a response a few days ago about what kind of flower it is, but I just realized that the answer may not have reached you directly! It's a cultivated variety of Osteopermum called 'Contorta'. The petals are really unique...
