Description This started out as something (and someone) totally different. but as I built up the pose I started to think that it was perfect for the Phoenix/Jean Grey. I did a bit of reading around the character and discovered a tragic life-death-life-death story on a galactic scale.

It was then going to be Dark Phoenix. But I thought it would tell more of the story to portray her as Jean Grey: some-one who has tried and failed to control powers that can destroy whole galaxies.

beautiful artwork... i love the feeling this painting brings to me... the artist is extremely talented... great imagination... this painting would stand out if it was coloured...

funnily enough, the thought did briefly cross my mind too while I was doing this...I guess because of all the interstellar space around her.. yes it is a frightening concept, and definitely would make an interesting story...both in terms of how that situation could arise, as well as what would be the outcome..
