Description
Staging of the city of Plock (Poland) defense against the Bolsheviks. The real events took place on 18-19 August 1920 during the Polish-Russian War. On the barricades with the army fought the inhabitants of the city. For the heroism of its inhabitants the city was in 1921 awarded by the Head of State Jozef Pilsudski Cross of Valour.Rekonstrukcja obrony miasta Płocka przed bolszewikami. Prawdziwe wydarzenia miały miejsce w dniach 18–19 sierpnia 1920roku podczas wojny polsko-rosyjskiej. Na barykadach wraz z wojskiem walczyli mieszkańcy miasta. Za bohaterską postawę swoich mieszkańców miasto zostało w 1921 roku odznaczone przez Naczelnika Państwa Józefa Piłsudskiego Krzyżem Walecznych.

When I first saw this picture I thought it was a frame from a film or TV show. Both the motion of the shot and the expressions on the soldiers' faces communicate an intensity of action. These re-enactors certainly look like they're invested.
