Is Nanug your dog Sue? He or she is so beautiful and its a charming painting I think all members of the Spitz breed look happy most of the time. Do they originate from Scandinavia?

Hi, no it isn't mine, I do love malamutes, huskies & wolves. My hubby works with the chap who owns both the malamutes I painted. So unfortunately sorry I don't know the breed or origin. They are beautiful aren't they.

Yes they are beautiful dogs and I've only seen one before - they look like they are related to the husky or Samoyed yet they are quite different

They're quite a unique dog.
I saw a Czech Wolfdog at dog show a couple of months ago. Its a new breed and a cross between a German Shepherd and a Carpathian wolf which according to Wikipedia has only been in existence since 1955. I thought I'd taken a photo of it but when I downloaded my photos it wasn't among them.
