I stumbled upon your tutorial this morning and sure wish I had found it when I first got Embird Studio!  I too, found the tutorials to be confusing and downright terrible!  I had to learn by playing around with it until I understood the basics.  Please do more.  I loved it - very simple and easy to understand, pointing out each command instead of assuming the the user already knows each step.  It confirmed what I already knew and gave me some tips on what I could do better!  Thank you!

Aww, no problem~! I'm so glad you've found these helpful~ I'm not sure if/when I'll have time to make more, but if I do what else would you want me to cover?

My understanding about the density is that the number represents the distance between threads. So a lower number = the threads are closer together = more dense. A higher number = the threads are further apart = less dense. Hope that helps, and thanks for this tutorial!

That makes the most sense to me, though there are other programs where the higher the number, the denser the stitches. No idea why it's opposite for other programs
No problem, hope you find it helpful

Quick question, which version do you use the basic or the pro.
I am thinking of upgrading my plushies to embroidered bits and i'd like to know if its worth paying for the studio or if it will jsut get what i need done on basic.?

Unfortunately with Embird you need both the basic program and studio plugin to digitize. The basic program by itself only lets you make edits to pre-existing designs - it's studio that you use to make new ones and you need the basic program to run studio.

hmm ok but over all it handles similarly to photoshop & Illustrator?

You could say that, yes. You make each object kind of the same way as vectoring.

Wow, you use a density of 2? I use between 4 and 5, and still snap needles more often than not. Does it come out as "bulletproof," or is it still malleable? I might have to see how far I can push my poor little Brother SE-400.

Yep, anything more and to me it looks a bit patchy. Wow, really? I don't snap needles anywhere near as much as I used to - maybe you need to adjust your tension?

It's definitely still malleable, but also pretty stiff at the same time. It doesn't really give me an trouble though - it's just a bit more awkward when sewing my head darts.

I'm afraid to play with tension settings and innards too much; no repair shop near to where I am, and I don't want to mess up my machine. The density I'm using now is pretty good, but it does sometimes have the fabric color "shadow" through (not pop through the stitches, just give the whites a shading). I think I'll experiment a bit after I get back from my trip, and see if that revs up the creative engine.

Thanks for the tutorial; it's interesting to see how others use the same tools to get different results!

Fair enough, though at least with my machine changing the embroidery tension settings doesn't involve anything inside the machine - you just go to it on the menu and change the number.

There's definitely nothing wrong with the density you're using - I just prefer mine as solid as possible haha.

No problem, I'm happy to help and I hope you can get at least a few things out of it

Love how it shows you how the stitching will look! Thank you for making such a detailed tutorial - it may be long, but it is SO helpful! I truly cannot thank you enough for this. You are so amazingly sweet - thank you for not only being an inspiration but for sharing the tools to achieve plushie dreams.

I can't wait to learn about doing the iris in the satin stitch. I cannot imagine having to learn all this by myself! It makes me all the more in awe of your work and should give you all the more pride! Thank you again for creating this tutorial!

Thank you very much sugarstitch I will definately be refering to your tut when I can scrape up the cash for a new comp and software
