I believe it is because in Path of raidiance or Raidiant dawn, the Laguz birds or whatever (I forgot) offered Ike some sweets at a cafe/resturaunt or something,
Ike instead said he'd rather have meat, and alot.
Now, he did not specifically say chicken, and the wiki said his favorite food was steak, but oh well. People just always prefer chicken, probably because the fan base may either not like drawing or eating steak, or they think Chicken sounds/looks better. ^^
