Thank you
it sure doesn't look too fierce... I guess it's because he's a good guy.

You have captured the textures of the fur really well but I think you could of made the face pop out a bit more, mainly the eyes nose and mouth. Apart from that you've done a great job.

Hehe, thank you. I am glad you like this one, it has been re-edited 3 times.
The first one's hair were too spiky, it almost looked like a porcupine then I found a way to make the fur looking softer.

Pudgyfudge [2010-05-28 18:15:36 +0000 UTC]

Nice job on the eyes. The fur was well done, not blurry enough to lose definition but blurry enough to blend well

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SuliannH In reply to Pudgyfudge [2010-05-28 21:48:53 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I have a tendency to soften or blur most of the pieces I do. Sometimes it works for me, sometimes it doesn't. I think I should blur less though.

I had the same tendancy when I tried chalk pastel in art class. It can work out, but I know your problem. I was there trying to sort it out an hour after everyone else had left...

Very pretty!

I made a few drawings of wolves but they are black and white only. Actually, they look more like sketches than real finished drawings. I do not have top notch graphic programs such as Painter or Photoshop but I have an old version of Paint Shop 9 that I mainly use for cropping the pictures I take. I wonder if Painter or Photoshop are hard to learn????I would like to try my hand at drawing animals and maybe people too

SuliannH In reply to Lalanenn [2010-03-08 22:00:34 +0000 UTC]

I started with Paint Shop 7 which was one of the best version in my opinion....Hmmm, I'd say Photoshop took me about 3 months to start feeling comfortable with it, tutorials helped me a lot and I got "Teach Yourself Photoshop" from Visual Books, they come in very handy when you start with a new graphic program. Web tutorials helped a lot too, you might start with Beginner Tutorials at first then you can move on to intermediate level as you progress. For Painter, it is mainly about brushes. You have to experiment with them to get a feel of the program.Oh and always download the trial version before purchasing, so that you'd know it suits you need or not. I hope this help.

Lalanenn In reply to SuliannH [2010-03-20 07:17:02 +0000 UTC]

I was a bit lost and I did not know how/where to start and which program will be better for me. You're right, visual books would be perfect I think. I like when there are illustrations related to the explanation, not just text only. Yes, the trial version would be best for me since I am not sure if I will like it or not.

Thank You so much, you've been very helpful.
