Because of the release of the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine I'm reloading a cleaned up and re-cropped version of this drawing of Wolverine.When I was younger Wolverine was my favorite character to draw and for that matter was pretty high up on my favorite characters in comics, period. He was my go to request drawing. Meaning if someone asked me to draw them something/anything, I drew Wolverine.
This is perhaps my most labored and studied drawing of him. The proportions of his anatomy were intended to show a short individual, remember he is 5'3". I feel often he is drawn as an average proportioned person but only smaller.

Uhhh, this is interesting, but I never pictured Wolvie as being that lean or slender. He's a stocky guy, built more like a Dwarf than an Elf.

I have one grief about this work-in my opinion Wolvie should have more well..a little more musculature of the upper body-chest,arms,not belly-because he drinks lots of alco.

i'm in love w/ wolverine, but honestly i don't like a lot of the drawings of him. yours, i really love. that grin is just perfect. the beard is great; scruffy, but not totally gross. haha. interesting that you put him in such a static pose. you don't see that much.

Thanks glad you like him. yeah i often like to try to image superhero types in non-stereotypical poses. in this instance as you said everyone has seen Wolverine in wild energetic moving poses, i wanted to show him in a more proud and chivalric stance

yeah, he used to be my favorite character to draw. my "go to" character, you know somebody ask you to draw them something you go to have a "go to" character.

I always have trouble with Wolverine. I like him, tho I admit he's not my all-time favourite... Either his hair-do gives me trouble, or making sure he looks short enough, or the claws.... for the life of me, I cannot make those darn claws look right! I try from time to time tho.
