This is really awesome; those fish look really neat, I really like the look of them. That yellow against the blue looks very nice as well, I think.
Personally, while the text does look pretty nifty along with this, I do sorta prefer this text-less version. :]

I kind of like it better without the text, though if the Happy New Year looked like it was a part of the bars, I would like that one better
