Description Zee Razin is Me
Balthier Dovestail WhitieWolf

Zee ran out of the forest breath escaping her lungs way to fast. Coming to stop breathing heavily, she had never been so scared in her life. Falling asleep and then waking up in a completely different world!

She lit a cigarette and took a long drag, "ah thats better" she thought and looking around she saw that she was on some sort of wine farm. There were some workers in blue uniforms attending to the bushes.

From where she was standing she watched them work montonously picking grapes of the bushes and bucketing them. dropping the cigarette on the ground and squashing it with her sneakers she ran a light brown hand through rough maroon layers of hair.

Wherever she was, it was at least 25 degrees celcius, quite a change from the -5 degrees of her home town. Zee gulped, tears starting in her eyes, pulling her silver lighter out she flicked it a couple of times staring at the warmths, hypnotic, calming glow.

"All will be okey" thought Zee and she walked over to one of the figures watching the workers pick grapes. He was wearing a suit but it looked like he was dressed up for something... "does he have cats ears and a tail" Zee couldn't believe what she was seeing, "it mustn't be real." Zee rubbed her brown eyes as she approached the stranger.

Balthier Dovestail, the son of the well known Demetrious Dovestail and late Eloise Dovestail, watched as his workers tended to the magnificent vineyard before him. The sun glistened high in the cloud speckled sky, but the cat-human hybrid stood in the cool shade that was provided by the towering, aged elm he stood next to. A smug look played upon his sharp featured face as his emerald eyes gleamed with devious delight as he watched like a hawk as his workers slaved in the sun.

With his snow coloured, fluffy feline tail swaying behind him at a steady memento, the young man crossed his arms sternly over his chest as he shifted his attention towards the three story brick manner that lay in the distance, which was his family's home. It had been for as long as he could remember. Balthier was proud of his heritage and of how successful his family has been, though he knew with fame came enemies and he had plenty of those.

Dismissing the thought, he passed a glance towards a nearby brute of a man, who stood tall and well built, much like an ox. At least he had guards just incase something were to happen to him.

It was then when his white cat ears perked at the sound of something creeping up behind him. With a quick motion, he spun around, his eyes instantly locking upon what appeared to be a tanned skinned girl with maroon coloured hair wearing the oddest of clothing he had ever seen. His two guards that stood a few feet on either side of him had their period style hunting rifles at the ready.

"Err…can I help you?" Balthier stated, his brow furrowed in a stern manner and his arms remained crossed over his chest.

Uh..umm.... well, I am." Zee cleared her throat, her fingers playing with a loose strand on the edge of her t-shirt. He couldn't be much older than her but he had guards and rifles!, "My name is Zee Razin, I am lost and not sure whereabouts I am." She looked at the man and saw that his ears were twitching and tail flicking. Zee's gut rose in her throat her breathe coming slow, she backed away slowly, "but it's alright I will keep looking, for where...I am meant to be." Zee quickly spat the last words out, keeping an eye on the guards and that strange cat man. To think she had almost gave away the fact that she had burnt down her foster home!

Balthier perked up a peculiar eyebrow as his thinned his lips in a contemplating manner as he watched the odd girl. His tail flicked backed and forth. "Alright…Zee," he said, passing a glance over towards his guard to his left and then his guard on the right, before settling his attention on the girl once more. As much as he was curious about her, he kept his mouth shut and decided that she must have somewhere important to be. His eyes narrowed in attempts to get a better understanding of her, but nothing came to mind.

"By the way, my name is Balthier Dovestail and you're trespassing on my family's property." His tail ceased its movements. "It's best if you take you're leave now, since I'd hate for my guards to have to take action," he stated as a smug look played upon his features.

Zee was feeling more bold, "Well it is very nice to meet you Balthier Dovestail, and I do hope you have a good day," she said as she turned to walk away... hoping that Balthier would feel inclined to help her out.

With a nod of his head, Balthier turned his attention from the girl and looked off towards the vineyard, watching his slaves work. He was prideful having people work endlessly on his property. It made him pompous liked a spoiled fat cat. With a smug look upon his face, he thought to himself as he wondered if he might be able to wrangle in this Zee person and put her to work, too. Giddy about the idea, Balthier looked over at her with an expression of utmost concern.

"Zee my dear, before you start wandering the vast lands would you care for some tea? Maybe rest awhile before you head off you wherever it was you desire to go? I'm most certain you must be exhausted from your travels," he said, clasping his hands before his chest as he perked his ears forwards as a delighted look beamed upon his face.

Turning back towards Balthier she tilted her head and smiled pleasently at the hybrid. Zee wasn't sure exactly if she liked how Balthier played his 'cards' but she agreed nodding, "sure why not," she smiled flirtingly at Balthier and then winked at the guards, "are you going to let your big boys rough me up? or are you going to escort me around your handsome estate?" Zee hoped that she could get more than just a chance for a cup of tea, maybe she might end up liking this guy even if he seemed as clever as a cat.  Zee laughed silently at this pun and shook her head what was her life coming to?

"Oh? Well, I simply won't allow my bodyguards to rough up such a nice young woman such as you, eheh. Though if you do prove to be any sort of trouble…well, that's a different story, my dear Zee." Balthier smirked as his ears perked and his snowy white tail flicked about behind him before settling. He figured that he might as well see if this out of the ordinary specimen of a girl could prove to be of any use. Though with such an appealing exterior she was proving to perk his peculiar interest, and he was most certain that she would be quite the catch. "Come then, Miss Zee. Let's make way for my family's manor," the cat hybrid said as he turned and started down the hill and towards a nearby dirt path, his bodyguards obediently following after him.

Zee couldn't believe that he actually seemed willing to let her into his home, she looked once more over to the workers and saw that although they were doing an excellent job they had the hint of sad lifeless movements.  Zee almost tripped over her own feet but she corrected herself and sped up until she was walking beside Baltheir.  "Would you like a smoke?" she offered pulling out her cigs and a lighter, "your guards can have one too if you like."

As she was waiting for a reply she looked at the change of senery as they were now at the grand doors to the main house on the estate, or what she thought were the main doors.  The house was made of a sandstone brick and the doors a mahogany coloured red.  green grass rolled over the ground almost climbing over the cement near the door.  Looking back over the garden outside the main house Zee was overwhelmed by the array of colourful flowers and the scent the escaped on the wind.

"Nice place" Zee whispered.

"Thanks, but I don't smoke," Balthier said, narrowing his eyes a bit upon Zee. "And thank you for the compliment. This building has been own by my family for many generations. Though it isn't technically mine at the moment, as my father is still around, I do like to think of it as my own occasionally," he said as his guards trotted to the doors and held them open.

Balthier flicked his white tail about as he held his hands behind his back and headed inside, the main hallway of the spacious building was always a welcoming site. The grand staircase lay before him, the steps covered with a deep red and the banisters were made from the finest of oak, which were delicately detailed. A vast chandelier hung overhead, decorated with swirling cast gold, with aged accents. It was lit with candles, giving it an old-age air. The floor underfoot was hard wood, though a red carpet, same as the staircase, led from the doors to the stairs. Off to the left was the kitchen, to the right as the servant's quarters, and behind the staircase was a door to the gardens in the back.

Two women in black and white maid uniforms came from the kitchen, on carrying a silver tray with a teapot and cups. She had the appearance of a light brown and white faun, her legs were that of a goats and she had tiny horns jutting from her forehead. Her face was rather pixie-like and her hair was short and brown.

"Oh, master Balthier. Will you be having your tea up in the library at this time?" the faun asked. She appeared to be around twenty or so, while the other maid was a bit elderly and human in appearance.

The cat hybrid nodded his head. "Please place the tray up in the library, Faula," Balthier replied as he crossed his arms over his chest as the maid feebly nodded her head and retreated upstairs, her hooves thumping softly upon the floor.

Zee had walked in through the doors behind Balthier, she almost giggled when the thought, " my his tail is attractive," came to mind but she stopped staring when they entered the grand building. She couldn't believe something could be so utterly, magnificent. In all her short years Zee had only seen the drabbest style buildings and homes. "I am going to eat in a library!" Zee thought, "I wonder what a library is?"  She ran a hand through her hair and surveyed the building some more, checking multiple times that he feet weren't tracking in mud.  Zee's eyes roamed over the floor and came across a pair of hooves!

She jumped in fright, but if Balthier noticed he didn't show it and with a few more flicks of that god gracious unnerving tail, Balthier offered his arm and she took it as they ascended the grand staircase towards the library. The maid opened the door for them at the library as the guards were still positioned like statues at the main door of the mansion.  Inside the library it was full of books!  From floor to ceiling apart from the wall where there was a hearth and a small but bright fire warming up the room.   Zee was so amazed with the mansion that she only just began to realize although it was extremely hot outside it was the opposite inside the mansion.
As Balthier offered her a seat around a coffee table that matched the wooden shelves of the library, she complimented what a good host he was.  Zee thought to herself, "Was that a blush?, or am I just kidding myself, after all this is like some sort of twisted princess's tale."

Balthier simply smiled as he seated himself at the round table, his ears tilting back a bit before perking with interest as his hands folded neatly upon his lap as Faula set the tray upon the tabletop. She poured the soothing beverage into the porcelain cups, being as dainty as she could before doing a polite curtsy gesture and took her leave to fetch the foodstuffs.

The young cat hybrid took up his cup and took a sip, The tea was delicious and warm, making Balthier express a content expression as he leaned back in his chair and sigh heavily. His tail curled and uncurled, barely even touching the floor.

"So, Ms. Zee, where is it that you were heading off to? I am rather curious to know," Balthier spoke up, shifting his green gaze upon her as he tilted his head a little to the side, gesturing his interest. His hands continued to hold the cup, caressing it gently as to not drop it upon the floor or spill the drink.

Reaching for the warm drink she raised it slowly to her lips while breathing in the warm chocolatey aroma. 'hmmm" she sighed, "well I ... I wasn't really heading anywhere... just away I guess." Taking a sip she watched Balthier. Sitting the cup back down gently on the coffee table she sat up straighter in her chair leaning forwards and with hands under her chin in a teasing fashion she asked, "So those ears and tail of yours... are they natural or do are they surgery... you know?" starting to think she was a little to straightforward she added, "no offense or anything...I think it's really cool." She smiled and then reclined back in the cushioned seat as the goat maid brought out the nibblies. Zee took a bite out of what she thought was a devil on horseback and waited for balthier's reply.

"Uhh, I was born with them. So they are natural, Miss Zee," Balthier stated, eyes narrowing a bit as his tail tip flicked before he took another sip of tea and then took up a small scone. "My father also has ears and a tail like mine, and my mother had them as well," he added beneath his breath, before taking a bite out of the baked good before setting it down upon a handkerchief and folded his hands upon his lap. "I'm presuming you're not too familiar with region. Yes?" He perked up an eyebrow as the questioning left his lips; his emerald eyes were locked upon Zee in almost a judgmental manner.

I am tragically sorry as I see that I have offended you..." she stared into his eyes and then averted them modestly, " no I am not from this region." she replied off handedly and thinking to herself she then asked, "do you mind if I could work with you.... I am qualified in a range of things."

Balthier did a quick wave of his hand, dismissing her statement. "Excuse me for seeming rash. Just stress is getting to me," he said before resting his hands upon his lap and perking up an eyebrow. "Nonetheless if you do wish to remain here and work, we do have a place for you to stay with the other servants of the estate. It would be pleasant to have another set of hands to help with keeping the manor in check. Perhaps you can clean, prepare food, and tend to the gardens," he added with a nod of his head, before picking up his cup and taking a sip.

Zee got up and went behind Balthier's chair and massaged his shoulders feeling them tense up and then relax under her touch, "Thank-you for such a kind offer, especially since you seem like such a busy man." Zee smiled, looks like she had a choice of homes from now on...

His ears perked and then relaxed as he enjoyed the massage that he was receiving. His muscles had longed for such a gentle, soothing sensation. Balthier's eyes were halfway shut as he calmed and felt content; until he caught himself and snapped open his emerald eyes. He shook his head, before he gently brushed Zee's hands away and rose to his feet. "Errr, I must consult my father, uhh, I mean the Headmaster and then we can arrange a room for you to stay in," he said, before straightening out his suit.

Zee felt his strong shoulders relaz under her hands only to be brushed away as Balthier rather rudely stated he must go. She sighed and sat back down to drink her tea and Balthier closed the door with a sharp click and suddenly she felt very alone again. She had been sitting down all day and her legs were complaining so she stood up and went over to the window peering down at a beautiful garden. Everyone seemed happy.... but where was the noise that generally followed so many people? it was so quite you could here the winds secrets on the breezed. Zee soacked up the warmth of the sun on her cheek, there was not a cloud in sight. After a few minutes though the warmth turned to a furnance and she moved out of the glare and turned her attention the books in the library. There were books on farming but there were also ones on Balthiers family history, she reached out her hand to slide a book out when the door clicked open and Zee quickly shoved the book back in and spun around, and she saw that faun girl. Unfortunetly she was startled, grabbing the plate and running out of the room. She was in such a rush she left the door open.

Zee couldn't help herself, she knew she shouldn't be snooping but she pulled the book out and flipped it open. The line said, "We have discovered something beyond everyones knowledge, a substance called eutheria, which although in large amounts be poison in smaller it...." Zee didn't get to finish the sentence as she heard something behind her... putting the book back she turned around and smiled at Balthier.

Balthier's intense eyes stuck upon Zee as his tail flicked and he crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned against the door frame. His expression showed his skepticism as he studied the young woman. He bit the inside of his lip, before pushing himself from the frame and strode over to the table, setting his hands upon the back of a chair as he faced Zee.

"Finding an interesting read, Miss Zee?" the human hybrid murmured, his ears cocked back and he drummed his fingers upon the chair, before huffing a sigh with a shake of his head. "Snooping through someone's belongings isn't very polite and most certainly can get you into much trouble." He moved around the table, his arms crossing over his chest once more as he narrowed his eyes upon Zee.

"What do you suppose I might be reading?" Zee asked innocently her smile shakily plasted on her face,"I do hope you could find a place in which I can help out?"

"I am very sorry it seemed like snooping but I was just intrigued by the fasinating number of novels and history books of the area." Of course Zee knew she was rambling but she was caught in a sticky situation and could only hope that Balthier was going to be nice to her... given she was a guest. Unfortunetly for Zee she could tell that Balthier was displeased and his gaze made her want to get on the floor and beg for forgiveness but she wasn't going to. Staring Balthier in the eye and giving him her nicest, friendliest smile she waited to see what he was going to do next.

"Hrrrmmm," Balthier murmured as he kept his eyes upon her before drifting towards the book she previously held. "Right, well, just don't go snooping through possessions that do not belong to you. I'm sure your parents had taught you that lesson, but nonetheless it is simply common knowledge," he stated in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. He turned around, facing the door, a heavy sigh escaping him before he looked towards the young woman again.

"Your room has been assigned to you. I'll take you to it so you can make yourself comfy." With that said, he casually left the room, his arms remaining crossed over his chest as his tail swayed with each step he took. The servant's quarters were located on the first floor in the left wing. The rooms were quaint and each was equipped with bed, closets, and a small bathroom. The colour scheme was much the same as the rest of the manor, with red carpeting, wooden walls, and small décor.

"Thankyou" Zee whispered and following Balthier out the door she soon found the timid little serving girl ready to take her down to the servants quarters.  The rooms where a lot more than Zee expected to be living in and she sighed at the beautiful scenery outside the window.  "Alright, now that the master has gone you will have to start your duties like a proper maid." the timid little goat girl suddenly grew a couple feet and with a brusque manner she stated, " You will work in the kitchens as a server girl and when you are not serving you will help the cook, is that clear?" Zee thought it was perfectly clear and she was going to tell her so but before she could say anything the girl bustled out of the room and left Zee to her own devices.

Looking in the wardrobe she found a royal blue dress the went to just above the knee, there was also a cap of sorts to go with it... and with another look also an apron with a large pocket on the front.  Pulling the garmet gently out of the closet she heard a soft thump of something landing on the wood. Looking down there was an envelope.  Picking it up and sliding her finger under the top to open it she read on the card, "dinner is 7pm and make sure your ready at the kitchen by 6:30."  the rest of the note gave her instructions to the kitchen with was in the right wing or off to the left if you are standing in the great hall in which she came in.

Checking the little clock by her bedside, Zee decided she might as well change as it was going on 6pm.
