I love the idea of Soarin being a lot older then Dash, maybe even her college teacher. In my head canon RD finds most younger guys annoying and wimpy she's very hard to impress, So by default she's naturally attracted to older successful men. That being said if a younger guy came along and gave her a run for her money I could see her liking them.

I dislike the headcanon that she's gay as well...its so bleh. Trust a fandom to assume the tomboyish character is into girls, just because shes sporty and have less lady like qualities, aka her big ego.
Pairing her with a wonderbolt is pretty locally to me, she clearly considers athletic ability extremely important, so I could see her being attracted to someone who is a professional.Β

I get what you mean by this. You may be right in a way of considering thatΒ Soarin is a long standing member of the Wonderbolt and she is just looking to join in...no wait sheΒ passedΒ her exam she kinda is aΒ Wonderbolt now, but any way she is still young in the consideration of training and he is obviously more advanced.
So in a way they are all kind of her teachers, but there is something about them two.
I do like how refined he looks with that slight shirt on with his stripes and how casual yet athletic Rainbow Dash looks it really catches her more relaxed side yet still looking like a cadet.
