Description I always think it's weird to see such powerful animals seperated by just a fence in zoos. it really proves that it's their mind and not just the animals that are caged.

How did you get the shot? I must say it really does represent a caged mind

I think this is really powerful and beautiful. His expression, the lighting tones, combined with the fence right *there*...love it.

What a stunning animal. You've managed to capture that symbolism with the cage very well. Quite a moving piece, great shot!

zoo/circus/etc are all disgusting it's shameful looking at something so magnificent being at the whims of lousy humans, being oohed and ahhed. that's just pathetic.

beautiful picture of the tiger though

I love the animals but sometimes I hate to even look at them when they are behind those cages, can't stand to watch them pace cuz there's nothin I can do for em right now. I'm gunna work with em one day though. Awesome shot, it's beautiful.

This reminds me of my one and only zoo trip last year... you know elephants cry when they're sad, right? Well, they had the elephants in these cement areas inside, and this one elephant was just standing off by the back wall and I SWEAR it had tears on its face This little kid who saw it started crying too...

Zoos are supposed to be fun... go figure.

I totally agree..i was at the zoo recently and saw this animal walking in the same path over and over again..it looked so depressed. I really felt bad for it and all the animals there..
If only they could enjoy the freedom of being wild.

arrluk [2005-12-15 10:58:31 +0000 UTC]

I agree COMPLETELY. Beautiful shot, one can imagine what the tiger is thinking, staring at the humans on the other side, pondering freedom. It saddens me to see most, if not all animals, the same way in all zoos.

Great shot, however. I love the lighting and is it just me, or is there a bit of fog (like mist in the background) in that picture? Gives it a nice touch!

wow, beautiful tiger. the stripes are beutiful.

what i realy like about the shot is how serious and calm the lion looks. it's like he's almost solving something, or watching for something to happen. nice work man! (definately putin you on DAwatch)

Powerful. I like almost everything about it, except maybe the background (which I suppose couldn't be helped)

It always hurts me to see the kings of the wild used as mere amusements for children to gawk at.
