Looks good, the mood is well set.

Crayons are hard to blend with other mediums as thier so waxie.

Try some Cran Di Arche if you can as thier Swiss made (pricey) but blend smoother and more silky....or try chalk Pastels. Just a frendly artist suggestion as you do good work.

Keep it up and have a great hoilday season.

Sure, if you spend the time to do good art sometimes the supplies you have arent as good so its a struggle to make the art really polished as you'd like.

Have fun with experimenting with other coloring mediums and if your in school/art college try out what you can.

Most of all have fun doing the art you do.

I find crayons relaxing (I use crayola) and I have worked with several other mediums like colored pencils, paint, markers and I even used old make-up once. I should try some of the others again.

Always fun to mix them up but go with what you like the most and most comfortable with as well.

Happy Holidays!

I am working on the joe mad cover for the savage wolverine #7. About 2/3 done. There is a lot of crosshatch work on it.

MAD! is a tough go to ink but man it does look great when your done.

Nib is what i use on his lines to get it thin.

finished it. you were right about his work being a challenge, but it wouldn't be fun if it was easy. Check it out if you like. It was from savage wolverine #7

Looks prety good on the cover, i havent seen the pencils as im not sure were they are.

To be some of the hatch work might need to be in reverse meaning spot black the areas under his chin and such and then add the white hatch lines in.

But the image is very nice and the lines look good to me.

Did you want a review?

thank you for all the great feedback. Always appreciate honest reviews from those who have done this longer than I. I wasn't requesting a review, but I'll gladly take it. This image was pushing my comfort level in inking which I think is a good thing.

I usually take the image which is small "800 x 1200" and resize to 11 x 17 and set the dpi to 400. this tends to blur some areas. I sometimes guess where to ink. Would you know of a source of higher def pencils?

Sent a note with the best review i could do for it, pencils would help the review.

Hope it helps tho.

Some pencils are unfortunately just to low res to work on or you have to make up some of the details.

Thier are some good places like here, comic art fans, joemadfans.com, Eon comic boards, has a page of high res pencils and some publishers that offer pencilers for inkers and asking pencilers/fellow inkers is always nice.

If you do a google image search or bing try to look for the at 500-800 or higher. Sometimes thier just not gonna work tho.

Send me a email and what kind of pages you want and i'll see what i can do as well.

Happy inking and merry holidays!
