I really need to stop doing these sort of paintings in one sitting because they kill my hand oh manI recorded this one here: [link]
There are a few things left out of the recording (like I went back and fixed the Garchomp's teeth later on) but, for the most part, it's a complete recording that starts at the sketch.

Well, TECHNICALLY a few layers were used for the entire process, but it was PAINTED on one layer, yes. I started off with three layers (one for the sketch, one for the base colours for both Garchomp and Flareon, and a third for the background) but I merged all three layers before I started to paint.
Later on I did make one more layer, but that was just a luminosity layer to make the sky a bit lighter than before
