Edit: Used a ref for her face....but no matter how hard I tried, I could't make her look as pretty as the real girl

Wow, this is quite impressive! For some reason I can't help but imagine her as Snow White (combo of dark hair, blue eyes, and pale skin, I guess), who has gone off the deep end and exacted brutal revenge upon the evil queen. But, that's just me...

Uh yeah! That is the look you should have on your face when your squeezing someone's brains to bits, fierce and strong (and in this case like your relishing it). I have of course no idea who the real girl is you are referring to. But she looks pretty enough to me. And anyway, having your head stuck under a helmet for more then half an hour doesn't exactly induce prettiness. Plus you don't need to be pretty to kcik some real knightly butt. By the way I really enjoy your brushwork (which suits the subject so well), the dynamical composition and light situation of the picture, which supports the composition! only critique (which my flatmate just pointed out): the red of the ... uhm ...brains? might have looked better if dimmed down slightly and maybe if it were not as pinkish.

Hey, thank you so much for the detailed critique.
This is an idea I took from one of my dreams, and as I mentioned to another poster while painting it I tried to create a balance of some sort between her pretty face, the armor and the gross heart/brain thing.
The loose brush strokes is also something that I find more natural for me to do, and I would probably try to move in that direction in my future work, as well.
Regarding the pinkish heart/brain thing yeah you might be right, I need to check my laptop colors calibration before I paint some more stuff... as it actually looks quite dull on it.
