Description
The second step of my Ben Barnes picture. Someone reminded me that I'm working on that one, too (you know who you are
), so I decided to show a new step of this one.Until now I always thought hair is the most horrible thing to draw, but I've to change my mind: The chain-mail is much worse. I think I'll be insane the minute I'll finish it
This is only the upper half of the picture, so you can better see all the details (and I'm too lazy to scan the whole picture
)Size: of the upper half approx. 29 cm X 21 cm
duration: no idea
tools: HB to 8B pencils and lots of patience

Looks amazing! I totaly agree with the chain mail, It is realy the hardest part compared to the hair. I can know cause I made one Myself. You did a great job on the hair part. [link]

I love your drawings. Do you draw grids for proportions ? If not then what method do you use to get the proportions right ?

I don't use grids, I measure the proportions. I use the width of an eye to get the distance to the other eye, the nose and so on.

you are SO amazing. but i know what you mean about chain mail. I drew a picture from the first Narnia movie of Peter and he was wearing chain mail a nd I about went mad, but Caspian's hair is a wicked pain too.
