To me, summertime means sun, flowers, and heaps of colour. This isn't my best photograph, but I like it.

Yeah, I focused manually. thankyou! The light on the left I think is from one of my mums big glass lights.. it's not lit though.

Ahhh wonderful! the depth of field is perfectly done, and the in focus parts are just sooooo crisp, and for some reason, the light blotch of grey on the left seems to even out the balance of the photo, makes it that tiny bit more interesting.

Looking for way to improve it.. I think it might've been worth trying to narrow the aparture a little, get some more of the stigmatas in focus (sorry if thats not the proper name, it was years since i did plant biology in school!). Although i can see why it was only done at F4.5, any slower shutter speed, I assume, could of made the shot a little more blurry, which isn't good!.

Anyway, if you've read this far, I applaud you for trying to decode my mysterious comment!

Thanks a lot! I shot this at night so I only had a single lightbulb that was in my room, so I was limited with the aperture to get the right exposure. Thanks for the advice though
