Description
It is a weird automatic thing, left alone inside an abandoned castle, wind and rain wrecking its high walls year by year. There is noone to admire an exquisite beauty of a golden lilly still blooming among engine oil within the kappa’s headbowl but maybe some birds and wild animals, stirring through holes and broken gates here and there. Though the kappa itself looks ancient, its metal body covered with thick layers of patina, the flower’s petals keep on working just as good as new, no groaning and skirring, sun rays reflecting from their polished surface, hundreds of tiny sun flashes running all around over mossy stones and the only thing changed - there is no more music accompanying the process. Day by day, the kappa is walking through the castle’s halls and galleries, carefully removing dust from books and scrolls, statues and paintings, even dolls and toys it gathered in a nursery and placed then in some strange order. Nobody knows, how the mechanical thing became animated, maybe one of the castle’s dwellers was a conjurer. Nobody knows, how the castle became abandoned, the animated thing’s anger might be the reason. Once made as a delicate piece of art yet given as a toy for amusing someone’s spoiled children, partially broken by their curiosity, thrown away and forgotten then, knowing nothing but being a speechless thing, now it finds bless in its loneliness and watches over the peace and order, no humans allowed, no more fingers tearing off its beautiful shell’s cover and putting sticks and dirt between its gears, no more ignorance, no more indifference to the purpose it was created for, no more stupid games.
