'Nother long overdue art trade with my good buddy ~OpalSkye . <3 I love her character Dee and it was my pleasure to draw her.Digital art has really been a chore for me lately and doing this traditionally felt really good. Markers, pencil and brushpen on parchment paper.

I love how you mixed pencil for the grey parts and used markers for the coloured wings- it really helps them to stand out and look really vibrant. The anatomy on the horse looks good, and I can assure you that that face (at least, to me) does NOT look spirit-style
It looks pretty realistic.
I like the flow in the tail as well X) Nice.
Just curious, did you use the same markers for the colours as for the lineart?

Ah thank you so much!! I still have to use lots of reference when I'm drawing horses to ensure that they don't look Spirity -- I don't have anything against that style, but I don't like how it's everywhere pretty much, including my own work sometimes. x_x;
I used my Pitt brush pen for the lineart and Prisma and Tria markers for the coloured wings. :3

I love the vibrant wings! Nice work on the equine anatomy, and the expression is pure joy. Sometimes I get bored/frustrated with digital art, and it's really soothing somehow to sit down with my sketchbook and eraser.

I love the fluid movement to this but most of all how the bright, bold colours of the wings contrast against the body

Well you'd never know it! Horses are tough. Fortunately, I've been drawing them my whole life!
It's crazy how much a reference can help no matter what you're drawing though too.
