Description Basil would have fallen off his feet there and then were he not able to catch onto the mantle in the last minute.

“You are… But then – ? How?“ Come now, man, get a grip on yourself! After calming down a bit, he tried again. “I am… sorry about that, Miss. I was not aware of your situation. But then who are you living with?”

Chapter 3 | A tale to tell again and again

summary:
AU - It is strange how one very small detail can change so much, for if one thing would have happened differently, this story needed not be told, for it would not have happened at all.

the chapters:
prologue | chapter 1 | chapter 2 | chapter 3 | chapter 4 | chapter 5

illustrations:

Again: ruined a perfectly good idea for a pic... Only thing I seem to like about this one is the background (used reference this time)

So yes, admire the bg... and forgive me for messing it up when it comes to the characters

Hey, it's not a bad one! You always draw Basil and the rest of the crowd in a good way. Also the backgrounds, of course, so don't worry. ^_^

Okay, just now finished this chapter. I think the illustration looks fine! Beautiful as always, no? I don't see the flaws since I'm not the artist, but I think this is another adorable picture of the two! The bg looks lovely as well!

...Holy crap, Basil is holding a cane. That's awesome, lol. I looove the backrgound AND the characters! Though really, the way you do wood is superb!

and for the record: I think I need to blame Jeremy Brett and the fact that he looked ridiculously cute with his walking stick back in the Granada Sherlock Holmes episodes for that

Thank you I take pride in thinking I kind of got the hang of it by now (wood, that is) *cough* When it comes to sketches, at least

And did you know Basil uses a walking stick in the Eve Titus books? In the first one especially, he goes out to get clues on the missing twins and...takes his walking stick with him!
