So this is a drawing I did on Tuesday- Having bought an A3-sketch book, I just had to give it a try... It's so much more fun that I'd have thought.As for the drawing: This is a monster I made for fun, as I do love drawing them beasts- I don't know what to call it, but the closest definition would probably be a "wyvern". This one has ten legs, man. And yes, if you haven't noticed already, the title is a wordplay on the "King of the Hill", the one where you push other people off some hill.
Would you like to meet one of those? I certainly wouldn't.

How I did this one: I had some spare time, so I bought an A3 sketchbook and started sketching, I think. Then I did the outlines, then I fleshed it out with circles and stripes. Oh, and a lot of imagination. Hope it kind of answers your question! xD

It's amazing what a few circles can do to a drawing- especially when you combine them with stripes. Somehow gives an illusion of depth, or something.

This is fantastic HD... I'm just in awe at how much you've improved. I wonder if I'd be this good an artist had I stuck with it.

Nice to see you again!! And I was on holidays so I didn't have much time, plus exams. I don't know when I'll be able to put up a new piece soon, but I will do something, I promise!

I dunno, I've just been quite depressed for the past few years, I don't have the motivation to do much, including drawing. I'm also in second-year engineering, so I don't have much time to draw any more either. I have been doodling from time to time though, so I just might upload something in the next couple months.

Well, don't be so depressed! Also, would either way like to chat more with you. I'm also studying, and when I draw I only draw those huge-scale stuff that takes hours to finish (or doodles on paper but I almost always forget to scan them).

Haha. Only problem for that is that I've got no scanner- so I'm pretty lazy when it comes to take photos of what I draw to then put it up on the internet
As for the wyvern, it took me about two days, the textures on its back are basically first drawing loads of circles, and then using vertical stripes to emphasize the form of it all. It's kind of hard to explain, but yeah, the textures did take the most time, but in total it wasn't too much work as I was very motivated when I was drawing it.

Did you manage the tonality by just making the circles lighter or darker? Or is there actual shading involved on the dragon skin...sorry I'm asking so many questions xD, I just really find your style quite interesting.

Well, I did do some shading additionally, to give the illusion of shapes and muscles. The technique is hard to explain, as it came pretty naturally, really.
