WHY ARE SO PERFECT IN CREATING EPIC ATMOSPHERE WITH YOUR BACKGROUND, you make it look so easy. I try to draw a tree and it looks like a handicapped noodle begging to be freed from its misery.
I also got some nostalgic Secret of Mana (title screen) vibe from that beautiful background here. <3 It looks so wonderful. It can even hear forest and swamp sounds looking at it.

I haven't heard of that game! But I googled some images and I can def see where you can get that vibe~ I was mostly looking at this photoset of painted backgrounds from Princess Mononoke C: soo-won.tumblr.com/post/182881β¦

Honestly, Princess Mononoke was my second guess in the back of my head. <3 I adored that little scene with the crystal-clear water between the huge roots. And when San ran on the single moss-covered rocks to cross the water, before she was about to feed Ashitaka.
I wonder if forests like that even exist or if this is a fantasy part of the movie. The biggest trees I've seen where those in Redwood Forest, California. But nothing there was half as green as in those Mononoke images, at least half of it had a rather brownish tone. And there was no water, because it's the desert. So there was no moss-covered things, either.

I didn't have a current gen console since gameboy color before switch so my opinion might be skewed but getting one is sooo worth it if you can afford it. I stopped regretting getting one myself the second I touched it xD
And both I think! A lot of the urban stuff I did before would probably count as super freestyle studies, but I want some forests and stuff as well... and you made me want to look at backgrounds from ghibli movies a bit more carefully too.
