Silvermane/Maverick: I was tired of coloring all my work in Photoshop, so I dusted off my colored pencils and did this in about 4 hours (1 hour to do the initial pencil work at lunch, about 3 hours here and there at home). It was done for a birthday present for a friend, and the two scars on his muzzle symbolize some things he's been through recently. I purposely tried to work a lot of color in there, as well as some human features, with mixed results. The only "true" black is in the pupils; the rest are mixes of colors. Mechanical pencil, Prismacolor and Design colored pencils, some use of a colorless blender, on toned cardstock.Related content

I was shocked when i saw this picture in thumbnail, but then to enlarge it i nearly fell off my chair! This is beautiful, i would fav this numerous times just to get my point across, but alas i can only do it once...Well done this is a stunning picture!!!

Just awsome. What subtle colors and then a touch of vibrant red along the scaring. I love the facial features. The nose and eyes all working together so perfectly. wow. I have to fav.

I really enjoy how the colors flow together, as well as the fact that you saved the real black just for the eyes. It makes the rest of him look more real, I think. And the wounds look relatively fresh, like they've been cleaned and left to air-heal. I also love that the mane trails all off the page. So well done. ^..^

funny to find this picture, theres someone i know about who enjoys drawing other peoples works and passing them off as their own at school and apparently he found your work. i love this image and the blue eyes just make the look so electrifying.

Omg that is amazing colored pencil work! Looks so real. He has such a calm, and wise demeanor. When its downloading it looks all tan, but than the eyes show up and they really pop out at you. Gives me chills. Very good job!!!

Wow... very exhuberant with colors indeed. Love the contasts in teh eyes, along with the detaield fur, shades, and blends in the coat. Yes... sometimes they say nothing compares to the computer made stuff, with the tradtional methods kick ass! *lol*
