Ok, this isnt really such and 'artsy' shot, but its a picture of a couple loyal fans with their favorite artist. The tall one in the back in James Gurney, author and artist of the Dinotopia books. He was kind enough to give us a tour of his home and his studio as well as taking pictures to include in his next book, reason why we're all dressed up!! He and his wife Jeanette are incredible people! Thank you both for everything!!!! I'm the hyper-looking red head
Several of my best friends are around, Aravis, Azonthus, her mother and sister, Quickstride, her boyfriend, Rusty, and of course, Mr. Gurney. Mrs. Gurney is taking the picture!!

Dinotopia was a big part of my childhood too. I spent years trying to track down the two art books and finally had to get them off eBay. They're on my shelf now and I love love love them!
You said you got to be in a painting for his next book? What book? What painting? Curious!

His new book will be out sometime next year... i may be wrong, its called "Journey to Chandara", keep an eye out for it, the art i've seen looks amaizing!!!

I wish I knew what painting to look for you in! I'll have to somehow track you down and ask you after the book comes out and we've both had a chance to look at it a bit.

Hey, they just re-released the first two dinotopia books with additional pages with behind-the-scenes sketches and other work about the making of the books. You can order them from his website and get them signed for free!

I am... Jealous beyond anything. I would give anything to meet the man who has made my childhood... As well as my life even now, James Gurney is amazing, and so is the intire concept of Dinotopia... -sighs- I am seriously beyond jealous right now. lol. <3

Oh I know the website, I even have an RP site in the works. xD I'm a huge fan, have been since the first art book came out.<333 My dad used to read me the journal of Arthur Denison before bed each night, and I used to adore sittign up with a flashlight and looking at all the pictures over and over. <3333 It would be so awesome to meet the man who made all of my childhood. x3 Oh and created the works of what I wanna get for my first tattoo, the skybax symbol. <3 It means so much to me. And I'm hoping to get ahold of him and ask if it'd be alright.
