Description True story that happened to me.

And this why cheating doesn't bring you any seriously taken pokémon.
... I started to play with my emulator Crystal version here one day (Pokémon is perfect balance for hard university reports) and because I didn't have anything to do with it anymore, I decided to try some cheating codes to see how they actually work and what happens. So at first I wanted an Articuno. There was a code "fight any pokémon" so I put it on....aaaand......I didn't found just one Articuno. EVERY SINGLE POKÉMON in wild were turned to Articunos. |D They had right sprite, sound, stats, attacks etc., their level was same as those pokémon you normally encounter for this and that place. ...
And where are pokémons usually found? From grass, caves, by surfing...under rocks, by fishing... So yes, I tried fishing and yes, it was Articuno. I just had to draw this scene, it was too epic to waste.
...
Greenwing the shiny Skarmory is legal shiny I have my Emerald (so yes, Crystal Greenwing is not actually real...)

I have had a few shinies even without trying. Basically because ten years ago I didn't know anything about any methods, just played. I didn't even know how freakin' rare shinies are. That is maybe the luck of a dumb.

This why emulator is a safe thing for glitches. You can just copy the file before trying anything risky. (Except of course, trading or other little things are not possible.)

oh yeah, I remember the cheates best way to get anything you wanted. if only there were cheats for B/W too

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristianScar In reply to Moranofchaos2 [2012-01-07 00:56:59 +0000 UTC]

There are cheats for B/W. An "Action Replay(AR)" is needed for it. You put the DS game into the AR like a gameshark. Then you put the AR into the DS.(note that there is no AR for a 3DS yet, but the DS lite and DSi are good to go) You turn on the DS and the AR icon is in the game slot. When it boots up it shows a list of games that have cheats and they're sorted alphabetically. The latest ARs already have cheat codes for pokemon B/W. It has a bunch of codes already, like "one-hit KO" or "Always catch". Another cool thing is that you can add cheats to the AR. For example, the "Shiny" cheat isn't originally in the AR, but it can be added. You can also add other DS games as long as there is an AR code for it.

There's a cheat called "Pokemon Modifier". With this cheat you can get any pokemon that you want as long as it can exist in the game. So you obviously can't get Zekrom on SoulSilver, but you can get any pokemon that can exist on SoulSilver. For HG/SS and B/W it works by pressing a button on your DS that gives you as many master balls as there are pokemon and 100 ultra balls. The number of the master balls in your bag is the number for a pokemon's national dex number. Like growlithe is number 58. If you want a growlithe, you must trash enough master balls until you have 58 of them. The 100 ultra balls are the pokemon's level. Trash as many as you want until it's at the level you want. Then you press select for B/W, or hold the left shoulder button in HG/SS, then walk through the grass or whatever and it should appear. For Dmd/Prl/Pltm it works by using the calculator in the Poketch but I forget how it works. You can usually find instructions on how to use the cheat online.

There's only one problem. This cheat doesn't come with the AR itself. That means you have to find the cheat online and manually enter the cheat into the AR list. Keep in mind that you'll need to find the cheat for the nationality of the game. Meaning the cheat for the North American B/W is different than the Japanese code. And adding this code manually may take a little while.

There are a lot of other codes that aren't in the AR but can be added. Bag slot cheats like "All Normal Items","900x All Medicine" and "All TM's" can be added. Cheats that allow you to walk through walls also exist. Adding the cheats manually is a bit tedious but worth it. Some cheats are longer than others, especially the item cheats so it will take the better part of an hour to add them all. I suggest choosing the ones you want the most and leave the rest alone. An easier way to add cheats is to use the software that comes as a disc with the AR. You can put the disc into a PC and use it to download cheats from the internet and then put them in the software to be downloaded to the AR via a special cable that comes with the AR. But this is a bit risky since some of the downloaded cheats may not work or can damage the AR. It's safer to add cheats manually. Keep in mind that the AR has a reputation for being a bit buggy and can cause saved files to become damaged, corrupted, or even deleted. I've had my AR for months and so far nothing's wrong.

I use my action replay to give myself a challenge. I usually try to play through the game with a team of pokemon that have a theme to them, usually having the same type. I went through with all water types, all normal types, all dragon types(A LOT HARDER THAN IT SOUNDS!) and all grass types. Now I'm on to all fire types. I'm also not allowed to use ubers when I cheat so that makes it even more of a challenge. It's a lot of fun.

I hope this information is a big help, if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them.

Why can't real-life fishing be like that? Just type in the type of fish you want to catch and all the fish in the lake/pond/ocean instantly change.
