it looks like the house where Louis finds Lestat from the novel "Interview with the Vampire."

It's been a long restoration that I hope they eventually finish.

do you know any history about the place or how old it is?

My condo is across the street in a house built in 1840. I would guess this building to be around the same age. It's in the process of being completely restored now, to be used as an interior location and housing for film production in New Orleans. I peeked inside once and saw beautiful 20-foot ceilings with fancy pastry bag plaster work on them. It's a wonderful old mansion.

It looks like they may have run out of money on the rehab of this place, or at least progress had slowed greatly. It's right across the street from my place at Bourbon & Esplanade.

Hauntingly beautiful. Is the house still there? I am heading to New Orleans next month, and would like to see this house first hand.

Oh yeah, it's right across the street from my condo at Bourbon and Esplanade (Lower French Quarter). You should definitely check it out. Have a great time in my favorite city!

Oh, I always do! I am in love with NOLA, and try to travel back there any chance I get. I plan on transferring down, just haven't picked a college yet, lol.

Somebody just bought it in October. I hope they have at least $5 million to put into it...they're gonna need it! Unfortunately, it will most likely be turned into condos.
