ladies and gentlemen!!!!my first finished oil painting!!!!
i've started it yesterday afternoon and finished about a hour ago... i've been working all night... it took about 16 hours...
so
be gentle if you comment this 
it's some kind of self-portrait... i don't really understand it now, so if you have and idea please tell me

i like it,i like how the fabric goes in the back,the colors are so bright
the shadows in you are great cause the contrast to the shadows in the fabric is so different it`s like two different pictures but still they go well together

Its a wonderful self-portrait ... not as the first oil painting, the whole image itself looks beautiful, the work on the background is great and I almost can sense the pleasure taken out of it ... I mean, I know I would be spending some time with such background... its almost phisical, you really can take some real satisfaction in modeling cloth... and then the "cornocopy-like" hair is delicious... I think it makes a great "final-touch" .... I dunno if you draw it or sketch it or even plan it to be that way from the very start, but I would say that its something "improvised" ... like the painting was really asking for it, that moment of inspiration! ... hmm, this is almost a "note" ... hope u don't feel its too long for a comment

i never do sketches on paper... somehow i find it boring.. i usually use photoshop to find out the right colors and the composition... the curly hair was my main idea... when i went to bed the day before suddenly a pict came to my mind... than i did only a few changes, like the sculpture-like face...

my father-in-law met a painter this week and asked him to check my painting... this painter is a famous one here in hungary, so i'm really nervous 
painting is the most important thing for me... my life would be meanless if i couldn't do it... at the moment i'm unemployed so i can do it day and night... i'm searching for a part time job to pay my bills... i don't care if i eat little or i can't buy new clothes in every month...
and i don't feel like doing digital paintings... for the reason you've talked about... i want to feel the canvas and the paint... even on my nose and clothes

I think u shouldn't be nervous... but I understand it...
Its great that you feel that way about the painting... I do feel the same way about drawing and for many years it just brought me enormous satisfaction and no money, it was always fine by me... I can live out of it now, but its like a bonus, it was never my aim or goal... of course I always wanted to live out of it, but if something happens and I have to go work on somewhere else, I will still be drawing all the time... ...
I might submit something "traditional" soon... I've been painting something in my bedroom wall..

I couldn't live without art, without my drawings... I feel almost sick if I am occupied with some other activity for too long... I have to draw every day, can't live without it...
My wall painting will be done in a relaxed way... its not any horror thingie

that's why i had to practice sculpture-likeness
my trip was nice.. i showed some drawing of mine to my grandma and she liked them!!!
she told me that she will try to organize an excibition of my paintings in my native town... we have a festival in septembre.. that would be a great occasion
so i'm really very well

usually you don't know about it when you're working... you have to find out the message too.. and that's why it's so interesting... helps you to learn about yourself

+your first oil painting? this came out really well and i'm sure you discovered many new things that can be done, oil is a wonderful medium for carefully crafted, blended images. i am sure you'll have a lot of fun with this. look into old masters' techniques, flemish painting... there's that deep, transluscent effect that gives oil its unique magic. i just think it would work well with the themes you use. this shows great skill already, the background fabric folds are well accomplished and the face is beautifully drawn. i would just wish you'd had a bit more room to the left to make the hair freer, less confined. the effect they give, as in "black hole sun", is excellent nevertheless. congratulations, szil... i hope this is really the start of great new things for you.+
