Hey guys, here's the second addition to my Fighter Jets series. Sorry it took so long. This time I decided to go with the Chengdu J-7B Airguard. In the world of HFtJ the Kingdom of Daiyuka was a neutral nation. Due to a falling out with Narthamura, they sought to purchase weapons from Karagia. However, this was a time when Karagia actively sought to promote Communist ideology abroad, and so Daiyuka embarked on a program to become more self-sufficient. Lacking the experience to create a new aircraft all on their own, they stole the designs for the Karagian MiG-21MF to create a cheap, easy to maintain multirole fighter. The J-7 ended up outlasting the MiG-21 in terms of production years, but not in terms of service life and numbers. It was mostly used by nations that found the MiG-21 too old, but lacked the funds to purchase newer aircraft. Depicted is an Antassimese Air Force J-7 intercepting Deltaran B-52s over the coastline during the opening shots of the invasion. The type was widely used by Anatssim during the Five Year War but was quickly withdrawn afterward when its effectiveness as an interceptor was seen as limited compared to the MiG-21-97 and HA-200 Mk.III.
