I think it's because most of Disney is very happy and uplifting. "Runaway" is quite shocking to a lot of people, due to it's darker nature, and I wanted to do the short justice

Yeah, I know Disney is for kids and so on but there is also Pirates of the Caribbean and I've seen fanart of it that is almost like they were jumping around in a flowerbed. I hate that the bad guys are almost like props that the hero kicks around and defeats

I think there are a lot of complex Disney Villains, and there are many fanart pictures that portray them in a darker light. However, sometimes it's nice to keep the overall light tone of the movies even when portraying the villains, which is what many prefer to do. To each his own
