They're doing the same thing at the hospital my mother's worked at for 30 years. They keep trying to 'buy her out' so they can hire younger nurses at less pay, who aren't unionized. They run the hospital like a business and worry more about money than patient care.

I think no matter where you are in the world staffing to patient ratios are always an issue. There have been protests here in Australia as well over the past few years because of it
