It's amazing how when you buy them in those cramped little cups, their fins are all folded but when you put them in a nice big tank, their fins just open wide like flags. It was a joy to see that. They are not meant to be kept in tiny containers. 2 gallons MINIMUM.

The problem with Betta fish is some actually have naturally gold scales.
My Blue veil tail Betta, Fletcher has gold patches on his head and freckling on his right fin. I am unsure if it is velvet and some other parasite of if it is his natural look.

Wow, that is a really beautiful color combination and it's a nice halfmoon betta...you found it at Petco?! ~_~'' OMG, why doesn't my Petco carry em? We just get scraggly looking things that aren't crown tail nor halfmoon...

That....Is just amazing. Theres people that would pay upwards of $50 for a Betta like that. Gorgeous.

Great find! I've never been able to find half moons at any pet stores near me. Only crown and veil.
