Okay, first of all: I got a set of grayscale Prismacolor markers.

I thought my marker technique was lousy, but in fact it's just that my markers were terrible.

These markers are my new favorite, forever and ever.

This picture sort of goes to this script: [link] . It's some stupid verbal doodle where Fai and Kurogane are New York City hipsters. I don't really intend to write any more of it or to ever turn it into comic, but it was fun, and I enjoy drawing Kuro-tan and Fai in absurd clothes.

I should probably have added a background, but I didn't want to try freehanding buildings, and adding a heavily manipulated photograph of the NYC skyline that I hadn't even taken seemed cheap.

It's called King's County because that is the name from ancient times for Brooklyn, the borough where all the hipsters live.

Edit: Someone pointed out that the above statement isn't technically accurate. They were right, of course. By 'ancient times' I mean Brooklyn is still called King's County (particularly in legal and bureaucratic contexts), but Brooklyn is the more often used name; and by 'all the hipsters' I mean the ones who don't live in the Village, etc. I believe Brooklyn is the largest concentration of hipsters in NYC but that sort of thing is naturally difficult to determine.
